Active Matter player-count analysis: concurrent players, peaks and percentage changes
Keep the baseline and time window attached to every calculation.

Active Matter’s Steam player statistics make a useful case for careful percentage calculations. A current snapshot, rolling average and historical maximum can all be valid while describing different observations. Arithmetic becomes informative only after you decide which two measurements can reasonably answer the same question.
Active Matter player-count snapshot
Checked 22 October 2026. ActivePlayer’s Active Matter player-count dashboard displayed the following Steam statistics:
| Measurement | Recorded figure |
|---|---|
| Concurrent Steam players | 3,597 |
| Displayed 24-hour peak | 4,505 |
| Average concurrent players, “Last 30 Days” | 3,871.6 |
| All-time recorded Steam peak | 10,784 |
The current count was timestamped 13:29 UTC; the history table was updated at 13:38 UTC. These are dated observations, not a live counter embedded here. “Last 30 Days” is a rolling window, while October 2026 is an incomplete calendar month. Steam figures exclude other PC storefronts and platforms.
Choose a comparable baseline
A percentage change uses the earlier value as its denominator: subtract the earlier reading from the later one, divide by the earlier reading and multiply by one hundred. The calculation still needs compatible platform coverage, metric definitions and periods. Correct arithmetic cannot repair an unmatched comparison.
A snapshot-to-record gap describes a difference from a maximum. It does not identify which accounts returned or establish a retention rate. Retention requires a defined group and evidence about that group’s later activity.
Keep the game and platform explicit
The Active Matter Steam store page identifies the military extraction shooter and its PvE, PvPvE and PvP activities. The audience figures here concern Steam concurrency, without a breakdown by region or mode. They do not represent all storefronts combined.
Handle missing comparisons honestly
The current history table displays a rolling period and an incomplete October row. A zero change displayed without a usable previous-period baseline should not be interpreted as a measured flat trend. Keep the unavailable comparison visible instead of manufacturing a percentage.
For other titles, begin with the ActivePlayer game-statistics directory. Save the same fields before comparing populations. A good calculation states its baseline, platform and window as clearly as its final number.
